US INK INTRODUCES AQUA NEWS® SPECTRA BLACKTM HIGH-PERFORMANCE FLEXO INK
Higher Print Density at Lower Viscosity
Uniform Flexo Printing With Consistent Quality
CARLSTADT, NJ -- US Ink, the nation's largest, and only 100% news ink company, has announced the introduction of Aqua News(R) Spectra Black(TM), setting a new high-performance standard for flexo inks. Formulated with US Ink's new resin polymer technology, Spectra Black flexo ink provides significantly higher print density at lower viscosity. As a result, ink mileage has improved as well. Spectra Black's performance was tested extensively on the flexo presses of newspapers across the country where pressroom managers found that it delivers uniform flexo printing with consistent quality. In on-press performance, halftones remain clean and open, with no roller buildup. Set-off also is eliminated and cleanup and maintenance are noticeably easier for press operators.
Michael W. Mylett, Vice President Marketing of US Ink, said that Spectra Black is a product of US Ink's continuing leadership in applying advanced ink technology to solutions for enhancing newspaper production efficiency. "In developing Spectra Black, our research staff has sharply increased flexo ink performance with an innovative approach to flexo ink chemistry. It is a product that answers our customers' requirements for improved production performance in their flexo operations."
US Ink, a division of Sun Chemical Corporation, is the industry's only 100% news ink company dedicated entirely to serving the newspaper and commercial no-heat printing markets. US Ink's national operations are structured into five regions with 15 manufacturing facilities that provide fast, close support to newspapers. With advanced research and development, US Ink leads the industry in the introduction of quality, new-generation, high-performance products.
